At ACS we all make sure our colleagues are well looked after. There are many hundreds of benefits of being an ACS employee but we’ve condensed it down for you with our A-Z.
At the Christmas party ACS rewards the sales person of the year and the operations employee of the year with a bonus cheque and there are also monetary awards for second-place finishers.
ACS recognises that space to escape is important for everyone, so we ensure that there are private spaces accessible to all. We have many different sized rooms for private meetings and phone calls as well as a chill-out room kitted out with beanbags, a wellbeing room where we hold exercise classes, a Multi-faith room, a tuck-shop with essential drinks and snacks and with the addition of a pool table, the canteen is a relaxing and fun space.
Many of the long service employees drive company cars or have a car allowance.
ACS offer supported learning for employees to develop in their roles. There are a number of people within the business that have been completed training courses. From AAT to Prince 2 if it benefits the person and the business ACS will invest in training.
Every year the directors of ACS buy all their employees an Easter egg each.
ACS offer flexible working to many colleagues. 15% of the workforce work flexibly; from enabling parents to adapt their hours around childcare or working from home - ACS understands that there are some things that are more important than work.
At ACS we take good health seriously. There are regular health checks from local fitness centres, massage days and health insurance for senior management.
Each year of service an employee serves with ACS they will receive an extra day’s holiday.
The Q4 promotion is an internal incentive that began in 2011 which sees teams competing in order to win luxury holidays. The promotions are always themed, i.e. 2017’s theme was “Back to the ACS future”. The office was styled, the teams competed in tasks which were themed around time-travel and the winners of the luxury holiday to Dubrovnik were announced at the Christmas party.
Our colleagues enjoy keeping fit together after work and at lunch times and can regularly be spotted jogging down the local canal path.
The sight of a box of donuts is a common one at ACS. From BBQ’s to pancakes on Shrove Tuesday food is held in very high regard and whenever there is a birthday or an event it’s a great excuse to get eating.
Every summer we hold a long service dinner for those employees that have reached their five year mark with the company. Each person that attends the luxury private dining experience receives a booklet with a biography about themselves written by the managing director. Employees also receive an engraved watch to mark the occasion.
ACS recognise that some jobs might not be for some people but some people are made for ACS. Working together ACS managers will accommodate their employee’s needs and skills to help find a more suitable role within ACS.
Every so often ACS have departmental nights out. Whether this is bowling or going for dinner these evenings are an important element of team bonding and provide an excellent opportunity for colleagues to let of steam together.
The environment at ACS is fun and vibrant. Music is playing and the office is full of laughter.
In 2019 we welcomed our first ACS dog into the fold. Frosty is a Cockapoo who lives with one of our Account Managers, Chris Gray. We take it in turns to feed, water and walk him and you'll often see us running around the office and playing with him!
Communication is important to ensure colleagues are informed and appreciated. The quarterly newsletter is a platform for managers to give praise and acknowledge achievements in the business.
Whenever praise is received from customers and peers it is shared around the business as a way of motivating staff and recognising achievements.
At ACS all colleagues are involved in setting the company-wide standards. Apprentice's opinions are regarded just as relevant to the Directors'. Meetings are held where employees contribute their ideas and expectations in order to compile a list of standards that ACS want to adhere to.
The annual team building event sees the majority of the office out on location, often in a field, learning team building skills. The annual Q4 promotion is also a 3 month long team challenge so working as a team is paramount to working at ACS.
In order to reward employees at ACS for their hard work throughout the year the business heavily invests in their staff parties. As well as a three course sit down meal there is entertainment and awards given out at the annual parties.
The management at ACS are open about the company objectives and future plans. Due to this there is greater focus and engagement from employees, who aren’t afraid to suggest better methods and practises in order to meet the team objectives.
ACS invest regularly in training our sales people on the latest product knowledge, job specific training or technologies.
Xenia is the Ancient Greek word for hospitality to those away from home. Our colleagues regularly welcome suppliers and customers into the office and into, what many describe as, the ACS family environment.
Every Friday at ACS a yoga instructor comes into the offices at 8am for a pre-work Yoga session. Colleagues sit beside the managing director...
Every Halloween we like to dress up in fancy dress and compete against one another to take the best photograph which we then put to a vote!
