Aiming to be a force for good, in the most ethical and sustainable way we can, our dedicated Impact Team are always looking for ways to improve. They work hard to positively impact not just our people, but our customers, our suppliers, our local community, the charities we work with and the environment. The team regularly meets to discuss ideas and formulate plans of how to improve our business and its positive effects on all the stakeholders mentioned.

After working with numerous charity partners over the past 9 years and raising over £115,000, we have now introduced our own CIC (Community Interested Company) - The ACS Social Enterprise. The ACS Social Enterprise enables employees of ACS to raise and generate funds that can then be distributed to numerous good causes to local community groups and organisations in Bradford and its surrounding area.Find out more >
We value giving back to the community dearly at ACS - we strive to maintain and improve our reputation of being a well-respected, responsible Yorkshire organisation. Our considerable growth over the years has enabled us to set up a number of schemes to ensure we give back to the community as much as we can. From our apprenticeship scheme and Support Local card to our volunteering initiative where our employees get hands on with projects within local communities, we try to make a difference where we can.
One of our customers, Mill View Care Home, works very hard to make life for their residents more enjoyable and they do their utmost to bring the local community inside for the people who can no longer go outside. The employees have put in lots of hard work into making the home a fun and vibrant place to live in for the residents, many of whom have dementia.
The home has an American diner style café where residents and their family and friends can use away from the usual `lounge’ rooms. Outside the café is a garden space perfect for the residents to sit and relax but where they can also work and help maintain the garden. The garden was looking run down so Mill View approached us to help them regenerate it.
Armed with 35 litres of paint, 7 tonnes of soil, 2 tonnes of bark, 1,205 stone of sleepers and 1/2 tonne of gravel, the ACS team mucked into to create a colourful, sensory garden with a water feature. There is a strawberry and herb garden which residents can help maintain, plenty of seating for the diners and lots of other bright features to attract the birds and butterflies.

As part of an ongoing commitment to providing our customers sustainable business solutions we want to lead by example with our environmental policy. Our office runs on energy that only comes from renewable sources and we are proud to be called a certified Carbon Neutral company and are continually considering more ways that we can make a positive impact on our environment.
To further strengthen our commitment to the environment we also offer a free recycling programme for all our customers which not only helps us with our environmental goals but also assists our customers with their own environmental policy.More about our commitment to the environment >

This means that we comply with the minimum ethical sourcing standards and to ensure ethical trading across our supply chain, we check and assess the profile of every new supplier. We only ever appoint suppliers and manufacturers who are certified to an equivalent standard.
