Raising awareness and money for The Cellar Trust.
The ACS Charity Committee marked April’s Stress Awareness Month by organising a different weekly activity that relates to ways you can look after your mental health.
Week one was all about keeping active because regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts your overall mood.
To encourage this our first activity was ‘Catch me if you can!’ Harry Stevenson, our Commercial Director launched the fundraising campaign in front of the team in his gym kit and ran off to do a 5k run. The rest of the ACS team were challenged to beat his personal best of 22 minutes 4 seconds -donating £2 in order to compete. After a fair few attempts by others, ACS IT Services Account Manager, Chris Gray, managed to beat Harry with his time by a mere 47 seconds in a staggering 21 minutes and 17 seconds!
Here's Harry reluctantly presenting the (smaller than advertised) award!
The second week was about spreading positive vibes. Basically, we asked our colleagues to send compliments to each other! This idea was particularly well received, and we have now had to set up an internal form so that good thoughts can be sent to one another all-year-round.
The comments were anonymous and very positive.
Our healthy bake sale for week 3 went down a treat - healthy treats such as honey and tahini cookies, coconut cookies, granola squares and sugar-free fudge were baked by our talented team and scoffed with cups of tea!
Our final week of Stress Awareness Month saw the Charity committee raffle off tickets to win an extra-long lunch break. The idea behind this was to highlight the importance of taking breaks and time to ourselves to avoid burn-out.
Overall, we’re pleased to announce that the committee raised over £400 by in-house Stress Awareness Activities in April - well done team ACS!
