Oxford Dictionary Team Building Definition: the process of encouraging members of a group to work well together, for example by having them take part in activities or games.
ACS Team Building Definition: don the company in wetsuits, have them abseil of a 45 foot bridge and spend the afternoon gorge walking through plunge pools both up and down gorges in neck height water, up and down waterfalls or alternatively have them navigate through underground caves with only a headlight and then have them army crawl for 100m in the pitch black!
Last Friday, the majority of the ACS office headed northwards to How Stean Gorge in Harrogate to spend an afternoon wading through gorges (at times the water so deep the only way to go forward was to swim) or alternatively some decided to tackle the underground caves for an afternoon of Caving.
This wasn't just wading through water, this was navigating slippy rocks, judging depths of the water, swimming through gorges, pulling yourself and team mates over waterfalls, blasting team mates down waterfall slides, plunge pools, dive bombing and so much more!
The day was tough, with people tackling their fears left, right and centre and showed true team work across each team, with staff from all areas of the business pulling together and having a good old giggle especially at the sight of everyone in wet suits!
The day ended with a BBQ, and like every good story, everyone drank, ate and were (very) merry!
