Ryan started with ACS in 2015 as an apprentice with local service provider City Training. When Ryan began working for ACS he worked within the Management Information department. He realised that the career path wasn’t for him and made the marketing team aware of his ambitions and skills in web design. After a lot of proving himself and since Ryan had finished his apprenticeship course he then moved departments and joined the Marketing team where he undertook all of the HTML email and web development work. His presence meant that all of the marketing work could now be completed in house rather than outsourcing to an agency.
Since joining the team in 2017 Ryan has re-built all of our company websites, launched bespoke websites, created a number of apps, built weekly emails and has worked closely with the marketing team in order to be across all of the digital marketing ACS produce.
That year he also moved to Seattle. ACS were happy to facilitate his move away as his nature of work allowed him to be anywhere in the world. In order to carry out his work efficiently alongside his team Ryan works flexibly, beginning his working day at 6am (GMT 2pm) so that the team can work together via Skype. Ryan is a valued member of the Marketing team and ACS are delighted that the apprenticeship scheme facilitated the company to find, as Managing Director Mike Hussain, has nicknamed him “the young Steve Jobs”.
We believe in diversity and inclusion and pride ourselves on being an ethical employer – treating all our staff with the same level of respect. We like to invest in our people and over the years we have run numerous apprenticeship programmes – many of who have gone on to forge successful careers with us. We believe in our employees and as such invest both time and money into their development through continual training and funding for external courses to enhance their skillset.
ACS work closely with local colleges and schools on skill share initiatives, volunteering, work experience and apprenticeship and internship programmes.
Our apprenticeship scheme has been in place since 2015. Since then we have seen fifteen bright and enthusiastic young people take their first steps in the workplace, many of which have gone on to become integral members of the ACS team.
Each department across the business has been responsible for nurturing the talents of our valued apprentices and because the scheme is flexible we have been able to move people around the business to areas where their skills are better matched whether it is Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, E-commerce or Customer Service.
We support Ryan
Ryan started life with ACS in 2015 as an apprentice and he now works as our web developer.
We consider ours a forward thinking business and when people come to work for us they never want to leave. Our diverse team bucks social trends with the majority of senior management being female. Flexible in our approach, we enable our employees to focus on what is important to them, whether that is starting a family or earning a college qualification.
We comply with the minimum ethical sourcing standards and to ensure ethical trading across our supply chain, we check and assess the profile of every new supplier.
ISO 9001 is woven into our management system. This helps us benchmark and assess our supply chain to ensure consistency with our own objectives and guarantees regularity of quality. We only appoint suppliers and manufacturers who are certified to an equivalent standard to guarantee consistency of quality. We ensure their quality procedures are compatible with ours and the agreements we have with our customers. We expect to see all accreditation is current and subject to regular quality checks.
We like to be support UK based companies as much as we can so when it came to finding a manufacturer for the launch of our first range of products, our ACS toners, we were determined to use a home-grown business. Alongside supporting the economy we are also proud that we can keep our carbon emissions low. The company, who pride themselves of a zero landfill policy, are Europe’s leading manufacturer of remanufactured printer cartridges. They also recover all materials in-house, including used toner powder, wood and metal.
